Hogs Gone Crazy
Trigger Less Guillotine Door Hog Traps
Hog Facts:
Hogs travel in circles from a water supply. They venture out for food but always return to the water source. The circles will be greater in the winter when food is more scares.
Hogs are in the same area as deer. Deer hunters beware of them they are dangerous.
Hogs are omnivorous and just like humans they will eat anything. From plants, roots, flowers, and small animals to fruit, corn, and insects like grubs. They will root up grasslands in search of grubs and that is why they tear up hayfields. When they tear up grass lands it is extremely difficult to smooth out the affected area, increasing wear on heavy equipment.
Most of the time hogs will avoid human contact. But if they are cornered or protecting their young, they will attack. Dogs cannot defeat a hog if it is 70 lbs. or more. They are mostly white muscle fibers. That enables them a lot of power. You cannot out run one because they can run 30 mph and they will kill you when they attack.
Hogs are nocturnal that is why you do not see them except early sunrise or at dawn. Just like deer.
“There are approximately 3 million wild feral hogs just in the state of Texas. That is a huge number and it is only getting worse. Because of the danger and problems that occur to farm land and residential areas there are no restrictions on the number of hogs you can trap and sell or even kill.”
